"Old Tree" is the 1st Season 1 episode of Bluey: Teenage Life, and the first episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
After 16-year-old Bluey Heeler goes camping with her family, she finds an old friend and an old tree she and her friend planted ten years ago.
Transcript[]
The flashforward clip from the original Bluey series episode "Camping" is shown. We're taken on a trip through the times, the tree Bluey planted in the aforementioned episode is eventually growing to show its full size. Bluey, 16, pops by and reads Muffin's book.
Muffin: (in Australian accent, off-screen) "Bluey! That book's mine!"
Bluey: (in Australian accent) "I know it's yours, Muffin. I'm just borrowing it!"
Bluey sits down and begins reading the book. Suddenly...
Jean-Luc: (in French accent) "Hello, Bluey."
Bluey looks up from her book to see a black labrador wagging his tail happily. After a second, Bluey's tail begins gently tapping the grass.
Bluey: "I think I remember you!"
Bluey looks behind herself at the tree, then looks at the black labrador, then constantly looks back and forth at the tree and the labrador. She stops after a few seconds, then examines the labrador carefully. Bluey's jaw drops after she figures out who the labrador is.
Bluey: "J-J-Jean-Luc?!?"
Bluey sets Muffin's book down, runs up to Jean-Luc and hugs him. Jean-Luc smiles, then hugs her too.
Bluey: "I missed you, old friend!"
Jean-Luc: "And so did I."
Bluey and Jean-Luc stop hugging each other.
Bluey: "Wow! Your English has improved!"
Jean-Luc: "Merci. Thank you."
Bluey points to the tree from earlier. Muffin comes running towards them.
Bluey: "See that tree there? Remember when we planted it?"
Jean-Luc: "Oui, yes, Bluey."
Bluey: "Well, I did some research, and it turns out this tree is a pink trumpet tr—"
Muffin: "BLUEY!!! I NEED MY BOOK SO I CAN COOK MY FAVORITE RECIPE!!! IT'S SUPER-DUPER ARDUOUS TO MAKE IT WITHOUT MY COOKBOOK!!! SO GIVE ME MY COOKBOOK!!! WHERE IS IT?!?"
Bluey: "Muffin, calm down, okay? The cookbook is near that pink trumpet tree I was pointing to."
Muffin: "Oh, that's what it's called. I've been wondering since a few hours ago."
Bluey rolls her eyes. Muffin quickly runs to the tree, grabs the cookbook, and runs right back to Bluey. Muffin stares at Jean-Luc in awe.
Muffin: "Who is he?"
Bluey: "Muffin, meet Jean-Luc, an old friend I met from when we went camping around ten years ago. Jean-Luc, meet my cousin Muffin."
Muffin: "NIIIIIIIICE TO MEEEEEEEET YOUUUUU, JEAN-LUUUUUC!!!"
Jean-Luc: "Salut, (hi) Muffin!"
Bluey: "Muffin, since when did you know how to cook?"
Muffin: "Since I started grade school! That cookbook is very important to me because I wrote it. By hand. Took me about 12 hours to complete it."
Bluey: "Mm-hmm... And how will I know YOU made that book?"
Muffin: "Don't you ever read the front cover, the front matter, and the back cover?!?"
Muffin shows Bluey the front cover, the front matter, and the back cover of her cookbook. On the bottom of those three pages shows the words "Muffin Heeler." Bluey smacks her forehead, ashamed of her absentmindedness.
Bluey: "Muffin, I'm deeply sorry. Anyways, now that you've met Jean-Luc, what are our plans for today?"
Right at that moment a giant brown bag appears and traps Bluey inside it. Fog appears, and the bag vanishes.
Jean-Luc + Muffin: "Bluey!"
Muffin: "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Muffin rolls up into a ball. Jean-Luc tries to confort her.
